As part of their agreement with Remedy, it seems that Alan Wake II will have an exclusivity period, at least initially, on the Epic Games Store. Additionally, Epic covered the development expenses for the 2021 remastered version of Alan Wake. Epic also holds the role of publisher for Alan Wake II and likely has control over the distribution of the game.
