Well one thing i can say is this is a huge step up from dead island one, This game kinda feels like its at the crossroads and knows where it wants to go for number 3,kinda like a step between what was and what the plan and path is for the future of the series which is great just please dont change the bloody devs again this has to be dambusters baby from now on they have a great insight to what makes the series great. I’m gonna give this a try I’ve played dying light 2 so this game has to be good the games I’m hyped for are starfield this and the Allan wake part 2 2023 has been a bad year for games so far but there’s great games like starfield deadisland and others but there’s a lack of new games because big compan are scared to release something different tak volition they shut down because of the new saints row game that couldn’t do good in sales but companies have to try something new
I played this game without having played the first one, and I have to say that I liked it, but when the game is over I try to play again a new game with another character and it feels the same, without a doubt it is a game that if you play it online with friends is more fun

I finished the game, and I just loved it, anyone who liked Dead Island 1 will certainly like this one. I hope to see a dlc with the 3 mysterious characters that appear in the plot.
most of the team working on the foundations of 3 and dedicating a small portion of that team onto supporting dead island 2 into the future would be the way to go in my view, keep 2 in the limelight and continue support and adding new material while developing 3
Youd need large map sections designed for traversing like in riptide, This game does not have anything to offer vehicles its too busy and small plus again performance would be horrid the only way to do it would be by having large map sections designed for traversing between point a to point b or what have you then locking them from the main areas of the game with blockades and such or travelling points. Id just like to see added quest packs, skins, Stories until 3 comes i think the main focus needs to go on designing 3 right now though
Not true, It can be done but the costs outweigh the benefits, Cost being (Financial + Huge performance hit. Allot of games avoid it not just this one. I personally didnt find it that short but i guess thats depending on how you play and at what pace, I still have half the sidequests to do. I think vehicles would be cool in 3 i cant see it happening in 2 the game isnt built in a way that it could be implemented enjoyably, Other than the lack of vehicles though i think pretty much everything else has been a fairly large improvement over the past installments
Those who wonder why they cannot see the character in the mirrors is due to the limitation of the UNREAL ENGINE 4 graphic engine, since the maps are large and if reflections are included the game will load infinitely. Or simply the developers did not want to include it in the game.
I already finished the game. The story is a bit short, the developers needed to add vehicles like in the first dead island, I hope that in the future DLC the vehicles will be available.
I have finally finished the campaign, What a rollercoaster ride. One hell of a game, Again respect for the team dambuster are shaping up to be a great studio the game was just generally polished too **** and hardly any bugs or performance issues. Wasnt sure about the AAA title but now ive played through the whole game it is most deffo a AAA title, From the art design, Music, Story. Just fab. Where to go from here? We need major Sidequest add on packs and story packs to keep supporting 2 through the devopement of 3 i think its very important to keep the franchise in the public eye in the run upto 3 and carry on support for this game
Done a a few sidequests and leveled up and also leveled my gear, Gonna do like 1 or 2 more sidequests and then go for the boss again, Is anyone else really enjoying the music when it randomly comes on in some quests and such i think its really well done and the song from the main menu is always in my head and growing on me more and more lol

Just an Update: I am still playing the game im onto the final boss but im not a high enough level to manage it so im currently doing sidequests to level up more, Im really enjoying the side quests there not just simple fetch quests you need to be detective like working out how to get into a place without a keycard and such there interesting and thought out, I am going to get back into it again in the next day or 2, I am recovering from a flu bug so ive not been feeling great. Hope your all havin a ton of fun with the game

I just did the sewers, Now at the santamonica Safehouse. Really enjoying the story still it hasnt let off, Felt sorry for the guy u meet living in the sewers, Also i chuckled hard at the guy getting half of his head ripped off through the window whilst smoking his joint and he still tried to smoke it with half a head while dropping to the floor, then one of his friends just picks the joint up and continues smoking it like nothing happened… lolll, Im noticing a mix of serious moments where u do feel a little sadness or emotion in between all the cheese its just a really good balance nailed it in that respect, like feeling sorry for the guy in the sewers then after that scene happens at the santamonica safehouse and just made me laugh i love the sillyness lol.
its gotta be some kind of driver/Setting issue with something out of game maybe try defaulting your nvidia settings and **** I have mine locked at 90 with vsync my monitor refresh rate is 75hz so it locks it to 75
Why I can’t lock the fps in this game…I don’t like to use the game settings so I mostly use nvidia control panel or rivatuner because with these I can set a specific fps…but for some reason with this game none of those working…
Lock it with vsync to stay at your monitors refresh rate just choose the closest in game fps option like i chose to lock at 90 and vsync keeps it at 75fps with my refresh rate 75hz
Actually leave it unlimited fps and lock it with refresh rate. Thats how mine is

Lock it to 90fps? not getting 120fps is hardly a reason to say its badly optimised. struggling to hit a comfortably playable framerate is bad optimisation. A solid 120 fps at the highest settings and god knows what resolution is a big ask even for a 3080!

Re4 remake on almost max was stable, but dead island fps drops makes my eyes crying *_*, maybe if it was an original product things where different?
Just lock the framerate, Maybe your expectations are too high, You dont need 120fps for it to be a decent playable experience, just lock the fps limit to somethin more realistic. Jumping from 90 to 80fps will be fine its the huge gap your leaving 120/80 thats causing the spikes. re4 was a beautiful game and really well done but in terms of the game mechanics it was completely different, the Pace of the Game+Area Sizes+The sheer volume of Enemies, Effects going on at once, Dead island 2 is a much more hardware demanding title. you can run re4 remake on integrated graphics it was hardly demanding. Just to clarify that was in no way an insult to re4 saying it was less demanding its the truth from a technical standpoint. I love both games 🙂
Locking to 90 will most deffo solve your frame spikes and freezes/Lags, Jumping between 120 and 80 is a clear indicator your asking to much from your system.

i said that the 60$ is a fair price for this game. They worked like 8 years to make it.
It took dambuster like 3 years starting from scratch and binning all past developement, which is probly a little below the average for a decent game but it did leak allot of cash through the past failed devs and issues that arose so yeah i kinda agree on this occasion that it lost allot more cash through developers than most games
Also to those that are going on a dislike vendetta against me even when it makes absolutely no sense to like/dislike the statement or particular question. I really pity you and your life goals……….
Well I didn’t buy the game because it’s not worth it… for me. Good graphics, in some aspects it is brutal but bad gameplay and I find it boring. Maybe with time it gets better and it’s more worth it but I wouldn’t pay for a game that spawns enemies in front of me.
Your entitled to have your opinion, Thats what i meant by its a niche franchise, Its like marmite you either love it or hate it, Ive played them all from the start of the franchise, I think its abit harsh to say it has bad gameplay though, Rather its just not to your taste, Everything in the game is well done and polished, Not perfect but well done, I love the slower pace of the game, And ton of great games Respawn enemies, I mean they kinda have to on a game like this and they have to come from somewhere, Personally hasnt bothered me, if you dont want to fight them run past them? If your not enjoying it within an hour or 2 its just not your kinda game and thats fine.
Thats completely fair bro, I think part of the problem thesedays is Theres so much **** being knocked out even by huge devs that you really dont know who to trust anymore and most of the games simply arent worth the price tag, I just felt like this one was worth it purely for the effort the team have put in under some awkward curcumstances. It takes allot for me to say a games worth the money especially in this day and age but i genuinly think this was a worthy effort from dambuster

I used to always do this thing on dead island 1 where even if it looked dead id still boot it in the face to make sure and ive still been doing that on this game and some of the poses they end up in after is hilariously funny, its funny launching batteries in the pools and stuff too

Im playing as Dani cause shes more my style!, I have played upto when sam turns up at the mansion i must say im having a ton of fun! the graphics themselves arent exactly the latest groundbreaking technology but everything is so well polished and palletable! Loving the charictors and the b movie cheese dialog, Have laughed a fair bit i am pleased with the game i played the original + riptide and escape dead island and also the definitive versions and i have to say the gameplay and general feel of the game is so faithful to the original! I think dambuster should take lead of the dead island project from now and let them start fresh on the third like now without all the dirty washing they had to sort through to get this one up and running from the development hell. It had one of the worst development track records that pretty much should have been set to fail but somehow dambuster broke free from it all and came out with a bloody decent game considering the circumstances! 🙂

There is also a portable version out there now on my most trusted source i cant mention names obviously, Well worth getting that version if you dont want to endure a lengthy and demanding install process. Also running the game 1080p 75hz locked to 75fps ultra settings, fsr quality, on 5700XT very few minor drops, amazingly well optimised game for this years standards! and it really looks beautiful kudos to dambuster!

Took like 1h 45m for the install for me, I was installing from a standard sata storage drive to my main ssd so maybe will be quicker for some people if there installing from ssd. my cpu was constantly at 100% lol, Also dont listen to the ETA cause it was saying it would take 6 hours

I honestly was expecting more of this game, now that I´ve played it it don´t seem to be a major AAA game, dont misunderstand me the game looks beautifull but when ever you hit a zombie with a weapon feels like unreal, it doesnt give me the sensation of hitting i mean for now is my only comment lets see what happens next
Your entitled to your opinion, I personally never saw the dead island franchise as AAA it was always pretty niche, the first game had major bug issues and was generally unpolished, Then the “Definitive” version was just a disaster they basically threw the dying light engine ontop of the game and it created even more bugs especially item placement issues and had no desire to patch it. dead island 2 has been through absolute hell and likely leaked money left right and centre through developement and changing hands so id imagine the budget was pretty tight for dambuster to get it out the door, Im just glad they started again from scratch cause it looks allot better than the crap yager glued together.
