What is The Alters about?

The Alters is a sci-fi survival game that asks a big question:

What if you could meet the version of yourself who made a different life choice and needed their help to survive?

You play as Jan Dolski, a regular space worker who crash-lands on a deadly, deserted planet. You’re stranded, alone — and running out of time. The sun’s deadly radiation forces you to keep your massive mobile base moving or die. But survival isn’t something you can handle solo.

That’s where it gets interesting: using a mysterious substance called Rapidium, you can create “Alters” — alternate versions of yourself, each one shaped by different life decisions. Maybe one version studied engineering, another became a medic, and another took a darker path. These aren’t just AI helpers — they’re full characters, each with their own abilities, personalities, and emotional baggage.

You’ll rely on your Alters to expand your base, craft tools, complete missions, and help you survive — but you’ll also have to manage your relationship with them. They might not always agree with you. Some will question your choices. Others might even challenge your leadership.

The gameplay mixes survival, time management, base-building, and narrative choices. There’s a real sense of urgency — you’re racing against time and nature. Every decision, every new Alter you create, could be the difference between life and death.
