Dragon’s Dogma 2 offers expansive exploration of its open world, although some players are dissatisfied with movement limitations. On PC, the modding community provides significant improvements, notably a teleportation mod that greatly simplifies travel.
In Dragon’s Dogma 2, the fast travel system is one of the least favored aspects, but solutions exist on PC to enhance its efficiency through modding.
Improved Travel in Dragon’s Dogma 2
Before the launch of Dragon’s Dogma 2, Hideaki Itsuno, the game director, had a specific view of fast travel in open-world games, deeming it unnecessary if the game’s universe wasn’t engaging enough. Although exploration is enjoyable, lengthy foot journeys can be tedious and risky for new players.
Fortunately, the PC version benefits from the ingenuity of modders, like rthomasv3 with his Teleportation mod, which significantly enriches the fast travel system by enabling teleportation to numerous points of interest without the need for a Portcrystal or Ferrystone. This modification facilitates access to cities, villages, dungeons, and other significant locations, making certain microtransactions unnecessary.
Modders Enhance the Gaming Experience
Since its release four weeks ago, Dragon’s Dogma 2 on PC has fully benefited from the contributions of its active modding community, improving features and performance. A selection of mods will soon be offered to further optimize the experience.
However, the versions for PS5 and Xbox Series suffer from restrictions, such as the absence of varied graphical modes, and do not offer an optimal experience. A recent patch has fixed the framerate at 30 fps to improve stability, but not fluidity. It is hoped that Capcom will implement updates that meet the expectations of console players.
