Sony Interactive Entertainment continues to broaden its horizons by announcing the imminent release of Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition on PC. This move follows the successful distribution of around ten PlayStation Studios games on computers since 2020, marking a significant evolution in the brand’s strategy.
The inauguration of this new era took place on August 7, 2020, with the release of Horizon Zero Dawn on PC. This event marked a major turning point, as while Sony had previously allowed the publication of a few minor licenses on PC, the arrival of such a prestigious title from Guerrilla Games symbolized the beginning of a bolder strategy to gradually share major exclusives with a new audience.
Following iconic titles like Days Gone, Marvel’s Spider-Man, God of War, Retunal, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and The Last of Us Part I, it is now the turn of Horizon Forbidden West to announce its PC release date. Available on PS5 and PS4 for nearly two years, Aloy’s continued adventures will be offered on Steam and the Epic Games Store starting March 21 in a complete edition that includes the Burning Shores expansion, priced at 60 euros.
Guerrilla Games, supported by the expertise of Nixxes, seizes this opportunity to showcase one of the most breathtaking open worlds ever created. The trailer highlights features specific to the PC version, emphasizing support for ultra-wide screens at 21:9 and 32:9, and even triple-screen setups at 48:9. Furthermore, super-sampling technologies like NVIDIA DLSS 3, AMD FSR 2, and Intel XeSS will optimize the graphics rendering. The frame rate will be unlocked, allowing keyboard/mouse users to freely customize controls, while DualSense controller owners will enjoy the return of haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. This polished adaptation promises an immersive gaming experience for PC players eager to dive into the captivating universe of Horizon Forbidden West.
