What are the most profitable games on Steam in 2023?
The end of the year also means the release of top-ten lists. Each platform has its retrospective, and Steam is no exception, continuing its tradition of unveiling the most profitable games on the Valve store. Nearly a hundred games are featured, revealing which titles generated the highest revenue on the platform (considering gross income).
As usual, Steam categorizes these games into various sections, initially featuring the top 12 (in no particular order) in the Platinum category. The following games are those that generated the most revenue on Steam in 2023:
- Starfield
- Baldur’s Gate 3
- Hogwarts Legacy
- Cyberpunk 2077
- DOTA 2
- Counter Strike 2
- Sons of the Forest
- Lost Ark
- Destiny 2
- Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3
- Apex Legends
- PUBG
It’s no surprise to find many service games in the mix, as they are more likely to encourage players to open their wallets. Remarkably, Cyberpunk 2077 makes a strong comeback, capitalizing on the release of its expansion three years after its initial launch. Also noteworthy is Starfield’s presence, despite being included in the Game Pass.
Steam lists three other categories, including the Gold category, which includes the next 12 games in the ranking:
- Warframe
- FIFA 23
- Rainbow Six Siege
- EA Sports FC 24
- GTA 5
- War Thunder
- Elden Ring
- Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon
- Naraka Bladepoint
- Dead by Daylight
- Red Dead Redemption 2
- Resident Evil 4 Remake
